Established in 2009, the SciencesPo International Affairs Society (AAISP) represents the student body of the newly-formed Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po Paris). As a corollary, a student-run magazine was created through which students could publish their work. The magazine, known at the time as the International Explorer, published its first issue in 2010.
The AAISP magazine has since evolved to take a more formalized approach to examining the contemporary topics of International Affairs. With the new approach came a new name for the magazine: InFocus. In each issue, InFocus puts “into focus” a particular topic that is of pressing concern today, which forms the “Dossier” of the magazine. To round out the magazine, InFocus includes articles on current affairs and opinion pieces, all submitted by students from the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) and from abroad.
PSIA fosters a student body of diverse national backgrounds and professional work experiences, studying in the fields of International Security, Economic Policy, Sustainable Development, and International Public Management. Such a depth of experience and knowledge is rarely found in other Masters Programs, and InFocus hopes to be the platform upon which such scholars might share their unique perspectives and in doing so, be able to create a more integrated approach to International Affairs.
